monitoring glasgow 1990 / topic guides /
media pack / bibliography Resources for researching culture and cities A range of research resources for those interested in the Glasgow 1990 project and cities and culture more widely are provided in this section. Suggestions for further resources are welcomed. Monitoring Glasgow 1990 Monitoring Glasgow 1990 was written by John Myerscough and published
by Glasgow City Council in 1991. The CCPR digitised the report with the assistance of Scottish Enterprise and Glasgow City Council
on behalf of the study's original funders. CCPR developed a number of
topic guides relating, in the main, to
cultural policy in Scotland as well as topic guides for
researching cities and culture. This link provides access to the topic
guide on the UK European Capital of Culture 2008 competition. The guide
includes EU culture pages, applicant city web sites, and media commentary on the
process pre and post-Liverpool's succesful bid Following the short listing of the six UK cities for the nomination for
Capital of Culture 2008 on 30 October 2002, the CCPR prepared an information
pack for journalists and broadcasters about Glasgow's experience in 1990.
A select bibliography containing references relating to cities and culture including a list that is specific to the city of Glasgow has been prepared. A more comprehensive bibliography can be created by searching the Centre's cultural policy resources database and the Impact Database on the effects of culture, arts and major events. Both can be located in Resources section).
